Interesting stats on EVs and energy use in the US, developments in wind and tidal power, a plastic recycling microfactory, and an "unprecedented collapse" in EU fossil fuel generation.
An informative three-part podcast that's both illuminating and infuriating.
I recently listened to this great three-part podcast created by Katy Shields and Vegard Beyer that tells the true story of the 1970s book, The Limits to Growth on humanity's impact on the environment and the impossibility of endless unfettered growth.
The podcast is really interesting but it's challenging at times to consider that people have known for 50 years that our current rate of growth would inevitably lead to environmental and societal collapse – and how the original scientists' efforts to raise awareness and generate action were stymied by economists, politicians, and business owners who were more interested in maintaining the status quo and growing their bottom lines.
